Once we receive a full manuscript, we send it in the direction of our wonderful readers. They carefully read the manuscripts, then rate them using an in-depth questionnaire which goes over aspects such as story structure, character development, style, and how closely this manuscript matches our goal of publishing diverse Canadian voices and stories which live in the liminal spaces between genres and identities. Once the manuscripts have gone through these readers, the Renaissance Acquisitions Committee has the difficult (often even heartbreaking) task of reviewing the manuscripts which made it to the top and deciding which ones we will make an offer on. Decisions are reached by majority agreement between the members.
Our acquisitions team is currently under review! We aim to announce current membership in August.
