Hello everyone! We may have been silent for a little while here at Renaissance Press, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been extremely busy!
All summer long, we have been hard at work on our two upcoming releases: Thrills on Ice, by Aurelia Osborne, and Kindred Spirits, the third volume of the Family by Choice series, by Caroline Frechette, both of which will be formally launched in October.
We’ve also been working hard on getting ready for two major events in which we will be participating on the first weekend of October, so you’ll have the choice of which you want to attend if you want to come and see us, and get your hands on those hot new releases, which will be available at both events!
We will be present at Can-Con 2014, the Conference for Canadian Content in Speculative Art and Fiction. It will be held from October 3rd to October 5th, at the Ottawa Sheraton. Are you an aspiring writer? Have you written something you’d like to publish? This is the place you’ll want to be! Our very own Caroline Frechette will be sitting on a few panels, where you can learn about the craft of writing and how to submit your work, but Renaissance Press will also be hearing pitches by appointment. This is a great opportunity!
We will also be at the Ottawa Geek Market, which will be held on October 4th and 5th, at the Nepean Sportsplex, on the Curling Rink. Are you a fan of everything geeky? Then this is definitely the event you will want to attend. The Geek Market is like a giant flea market dedicated only to geeky things – jewelry, collectibles, games, and yes – books like ours! There will be a scavenger hunt where Renaissance’s table will be one of the stops, and again, Caroline Frechette is going to give an excellent workshop on world building for both writers and game masters.
