We offer three different levels of editing, depending on what your manuscript needs:
Copy editing (2 cents per word)
A basic spelling, punctuation and grammar check. We offer no comment on style or content.
Line editing (5 cents per word)
Spelling and grammar, plus we check for things such as passive voice, paragraph structure, repetitions, etc. This edit looks at style and voice so that the prose is as tight as it can be.
Substantive / structural edit (10 cents per word)
As above, but includes checks for character development, continuity and inconsistencies, info dumps, failure to maintain a good rhythm, etc.
We typically ask for a month for a full manuscript revision. Anything shorter is given a deadline on a case by case basis. Additional fees may be asked for rush jobs.
